Aaron and I worked together over several years on Madden NFL. Aaron is a credible, knowledgeable, collaborative and technically capable audio director that led one of the biggest audio changes in our franchise's history. We wanted to elevate our commentary quality and variety and we wanted to do it a single year. The ambition was to increase our content by 10X! While it seemed crazy at the time (and it was), Aaron and team rolled up their sleeves and began working on the "whatif" plan, identifying the changes we would have to make to pull this off. After building a team, updating work flows and working their tails off I can confidently say Madden delivered the best commentary in sports for its time. It set a new bar. It was a pleasure seeing Aaron's leadership and the pride the team had in delivering these breakthrough results.

Just as when working on the Age of Empires soundtrack, working with Relic was an excellent experience for our composers. Aaron Janzen was the main contact from the beginning. “Aaron and I talked quite a few times via Skype about how to make the music and how to use it, passing small layouts back and forth and testing them in gameplay,” Tilman said. “He also came up with the idea of making individual elements from the background soundtrack available for gameplay – he created a huge pool of options in the game with our music, which is a great thing that we plan to do more often in the future, just because it works so well in the game!”
